Black Moshannon

If you are going to try this ride, you had better enjoy riding your bike uphill. With three distinct climbs, checking in at 600, 1700, and 800 feet respectively, this ride totals well over 4000 feet of climbing. The ride starts off with a climb of Bald Eagle Mountain, which divides the ridge and valley topography defining much of Centre County from the Allegheny Front that lies to the north. After descending into Unionville, you will head up, up, and up on your way to Black Moshannon State Park. The relative lack of traffic and spectacular views back to the south make this a superb climb. After recovering at the lake, descend Julian Pike before starting your last major climb back over Bald Eagle. Enjoy!
